Not many CHIC hikes are done using cars and on those few occasions, there had always been more hikers than available cars could take.
But not on Oct 23, 2005 hike to Yoro.

There were two jumbo vans, one modest station wagon, and one sporty one.
The ride to Yoro Park took 1.30 hours going through inter-city streets and not highways.
Along the way another car also joined us making the total of participant to 21.

The weather by now was good, but as we got near the mountains there were more clouds.
When we actually started hiking, it started raining lightly.
At the famous "Yoro no taki", (Yoro waterfall), 10 minutes into our hike, there were actually other people there taking picture and taking in some fresh air.

The weather was still okay when we were actually on the hike trail, when Lucas the hike leader took a wrong turn, but Rostam his son was quick to correct the course, as he had come here two weeks before to learn the route.
Good job Rostam!

Four hikers decided to turn back when it started raining harder. The spent their time in a local cafe over chocolate and coffee for about four hours! It seemed they had their little birthday party going for one them.

The hike continued, and as we went higher, it rained harder.

When we got to Sampozan at 722 meters, we could not see much in the way of landscape as it was cloudy and foggy.

Everyone one relieved that it was time to have lunch and beat it back.

We had our lunch quickly in the rain and headed back as fast as we could.

The whole hike took four hours.

We met with other hikers in the parking lot and went to a little nice onsen nearby called "Nanno Onsen". It is a very popular onsen with great view of the plains below. You can see Nagoya Twin Towers on a clear day.
Every week they switch men and women outdoor spas so that all get the same great views.
Entrance fee is Yen 500.
You need to park your car at the foot of the hill in the free parking lot and then take the frequent bus there (five minutes)

Also worth mentioning is a place called "Michi no eki" next door to the parking lot, where you can but local produce and also take a quick mini-hike.
